As part of a California Energy Commission-funded project, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is surveying agriculture water suppliers on the challenges they face in reducing the energy associated with pumping groundwater. To learn more about the larger project, click here.

Your participation in this short survey is vital. We want to learn about the conditions you face on the ground so we can accurately convey your experiences with groundwater pumping energy management to policymakers. We will be asking you some questions about reliance on groundwater, past and planned well operation practices, and barriers to lowering the energy needed to pump groundwater. The resulting public report will advance understanding of the energy-groundwater nexus and more tightly link opportunities for energy conservation to groundwater management. Each participant will also have the option to receive a custom report showing how its responses compare to aggregated results.

Results will be disconnected from organizational identities. Individual responses will be stored in a secure location accessed only by a few authorized LBNL researchers and will not be made public. In publicly available reports, results will only be presented in aggregate form with no reference to respondents.
